On December 8, 2016,CBMI Construction Co., Ltd signed two contracts with LafargeHolcim Group (hereinafter referred to as "LH group") in the Uganda's capital Kampala, which were Kenya NAI 1,000,000 t/y and Uganda TOR800,000 t/y cement grinding stations.
Kenya NAI Project is invested by Bamburi Cement Company, which is a joint venture of LH group in Kenya, and this project is located in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Uganda TOR Project is invested by Hima Cement Company, which is a joint venture of LH group in Uganda, and this project is located in TORORO of eastern Uganda. Attendees of the signing ceremony were the CEO of Bamburi Cement Company Mr. Bruno Pescheux, the CEO of Hima Cement Company Mr. Daniel Pettersson, the Regional Manager of CBMI Mr. Li Ming, the Deputy Director of Marketing Department Mr. Yang Zhi, the Account Manager Mr. Wei Guang, the Commercial Manager Mrs. Hong Yanping, the Kenya Project Manager Mr. Zhou Liang, the Uganda Project Manager Mr. Ma Jingwei, etc.
Kenya NAI and Uganda TOR are brand new cement grinding stations, with the scope from clinker feeding to cement packing and shipping. These contracts will come into force after signatures, the owners’ receiving of Guarantees and CBMI’s receiving of the advance payments. Contract periods are 17.5 months after contracts coming into force to complete industrial tests, and 19 months to reach PAC.
These projects are the first projects after Lafarge Group and Holcim Group merging into LH Group. The two grinding stations being awarded to CBMI by L.H. Group at the same time fully illustrates LH Group's affirmation and trust to CBMI. It is believed that the successful implementation of these two projects will lay a more solid foundation for future cooperation. Uganda TOR Project is the second one in Uganda after successful implementation of Lafarge Uganda Hima Project. Being continuously awarded projects in the same country in different time from the same group fully demonstrates that our ability to implement the project has received high recognition from the owner. Kenya NAI Project helps CBMI to enter a hot market of East Africa. The signing of the two projects expands the influence of CBMI in East African market, consolidates the position of CBMI within the regional market, and lays a solid foundation for further exploring the regional market.
